Remember You

Waves are crashing, pounding the shore
I don't know if I can hold it any more
Tension's tightening
People are done.
Did you really think that
You're the only one?
Pressure's mounting,
Pele's steam
Its really a nightmare,
That American Dream.
What a fiasco!
Damage complete.
How are oppressors
Able to sleep?
So many questions
Seemingly clerical
But the genocide has not
Been an error, so
What is the solution?
Its no easy task.
Start where you can
For help, just ask.
Never mind what the
Naysayers say
They're just struggling to
Make it day by day.
They don't know how
To do what you do,
So be encouraged and
Stay true to you.
No need take it all,
You're not in it for pay.
Just survive to get by
Remember, you're here to make change.
Remember what your ancestors did, just
For your DNA to make you,
Remember to give thanks for
Blessings given to you.
Remember that covenant
We all must adhere,
Remember to only give
When your heart is sincere.
Remember that you have a gift
Remember who you are.
Stand together, stand strong
Without each other,
We won't stand for long.
