Eating to Fight Cancer

It's a fact.  Cancer affects 1 in every 3 people.  There is no cure for cancer.  Only the hope that it can be reduced and removed.  Not so long ago, I moved to Florida and have only begun to develop a social circle.  Already, I've seen 2 very nice people be taken out by this horrible monster.
Recently,  I have been blessed to have a wonderful person in my life,  whom I care about very much.  This person has stage 4 lung cancer and there's nothing I wouldn't do to help him along his weary journey.  With that in mind,  I think about a few other friends that I know of, who also are either suffering with cancer,  survivors of cancer,  or affected by the disasters it causes in families.
Just last week,  it hit me even harder, when I took my 5 year old son for his biopsy.  He may have skin cancer.
With those of whom I love and support in mind,  I am going to simply post some of my findings.

As I flipped through the pages of  www.cancercenter.com  last night,  I found list of foods that help defend your body against cancer.  Please verify my information via google or on the website I have provided for you.  I am by far, not a doctor.  Just a caring poet who wants to help those whom I love and those who love someone with these conditions.

  • eat plenty of foods that contain Vitamin D
  • eat more fiber rich foods
  • rather than rely on pills to cure you, realize that these pills are more effective when you eat a diet consistent with what you are trying to achieve.  Please realize that God has given us all the resources that we need.  Medicine will only take you so far.  The rest is upto you.
  • eat low fat yogurt daily.  Please watch what kind of yogurt you go for, as  sugar feeds cancerous activity.  There are certain types of natural sugars that are helpful to fighting cancer.  Natural low fat yogurt contains these 'good sugars'.
  • bananas
  • hard boiled eggs
  • low sodium V8
  • dried pineapple:  pineapple extract is very helpful if you are going through chemo.
  • pinto beans
  • pistachios
  • goat cheese
  • fresh veggies
  • raw almonds
  • peppermint tea
I hope that this tidbit of info helps those who could use some support throughout their journey.

Therefore I Write

I am
Therefore I write.
A deep thought process
Is coming out tonight.
Whether I choose to write format,
Or choose to write free,
This monumental moment is
Going to be.
Because my writing is my
Perception of reality.
I'm not going to set rules,
I don't do boundaries.
So accept my love here
Before I begin my rhyme,
First impressions are forever-
And you only get one time.

Love and peace yall,
My favorite quote is "Love is the Color of Water" by James Mc Bride. Good read. Definitely worth reading!
Please enjoy my work!

Freedom Diary 1

Although we seek freedom,
We are not free.
With such a deep word comes
Great responsibility.
The rules that apply have
Existed since day one.
Yet have we to see
His Divine Will be done.
Beware! For such day is
Incredibly near.
If you haven't before, it is
Now time to fear!
Do not fear for your life,
For it's the only time you have,
But as for your soul,
How many intentions were bad?
God did not appoint us to slay
In His name!
Nor did He tell us that

Life is a game!
So watch what you do,
And every step that you take.
Prepare for your day
At the judgement gate.

Throughout the Years

Thirteen years and it seems like yesterday
Wish I could visit you for just one day
So much has happened, your boy becoming a man
If only I could see your face again.
Most of the time, I think forward
Thou shall never look back.
But every July 3rd, I get this attack.
Memories remind me of the only love I know true
And this is why I cannot forget about you.
People said to move on, as I have duly done
To date I have yet to find another one
Someone to love, who's heart feels as much.
After all these years, I'd give anything
To feel your touch.
Another year past, I'll push it away, for
I know I'll see you in heaven one day.

To my Shawn, the love I'll never forget

Nothing

I have officially given
All that I have to give.
At some point I need me
Before I lose reason to live.
Judgement calls are made
Throughout day and night, but
The people throwing judgement
Are the ones who aren't living right.
Keep up the talking
Keep throwing stones!
I'll pray for you as
You stand before God's throne.
Go ahead and revel
In your selfish ways!
From the end of my rope, I
Leave you today.
I leave you behind me
For my boundaries you've breached
For you to seek out the Lord
Is all I beseech .
I've nothing to say
The water's run dry
I've nothing for you
Not even good bye.

Without Humanity

It seems to me that we are not we
Human race, without humanity
Watching people living in bluff,
Hasn't anyone gotten tired enough?
Tired of the lies, tell the truth, let it be
Tired of living in mediocrity
Wish I was done living in the slums
So I could dance to a fancier drum.
Nowadays, there is a pill
To solve your every whim
Society says if you don't,
You're probably living in sin.
They say there's no way, because
They don't want to sin alone
As though you could call me from
The gates of hell, with a cell phone?
Wishful thinking on your behalf
Protected I am with His divine rod and staff.
I'll be much more comfortable
At home, safe at last.

We are a human race, without humanity
Full of social surprises, lacking dignity.
Not united at all, not one common front
Every man for himself, worried on his wants.
If he don't succeed, he doesn't feel the need
And he won't call you again, until his
Heart starts to bleed.
Take it or leave it, your soul it will cost
You can mourn later about the blessings you lost.
Selfishness rules this world that I see
"I can't talk to you right now, if it doesn't benefit me."
