Crude Black Water

Words overrated,  innocence lost
Privileged opinions suppress reality
While lusty politicians vie for corporate money
Media frightens the public eye with disaster

Foreclosing upon the pursuit of happiness
Imposing hardship among masses
Unavailable prescriptions on hold for approval
Voices of uneducated populations
Electing crude officials to manage humanity
While immigrant children  die in custody

All is well with the economy
No budget for education
None for medication
No money for operations
No honest answers given

All is well with the economy
Plenty jobs are listed as available
While not a soul in sight qualifies
Local transportation is prohibited by
Conflicting laws between state and federal
Preventing people from freedom

All is well in a developed country where
Homelessness is the fault of the impoverished
Law enforcement distributes evidence collected
As street product and a way to set up enemies
Mass incarceration feeds privatized prisons
Under the guise of the 13th Constitutional Amendment

Donʻt speak the truth or youʻll offend
Keep your intelligence to yourself
Cover the eyes of children
Blind them from reality, that they
May endure the future of struggle
Deeply embedded in modern culture.

Modern civilized culture
Developing false dreams
Hopeless realities
Plastic islands
Crude black water

Sinful Judges

Who are you to me that I must prove myself to you?

Are you a person, the police, the judge and God too?

What notification did Jesus leave when He left you in charge?

Or do you think that your belief system makes you extra large?

At what point in time has your God told you to break down humanity?

Or are you acting as a Satanic agent to destroy what life could be?

Do you act on faith or are your actions based upon strife?

At which point are you going to get a grip on your life?

At which point are you going to stop pointing fingers?

Once you move forward, your past does not linger.

What did your God say in Act chapter six?

If you were a true follower of God, you would have known this.

If you still have excuses as to why you are not yet perfect,

Then you might want your words to reflect that because arguing with you is not worthy.

You are nobody to many and especially not me,

Therefore to you I owe no explanation nor apology.

1995

With the loss of so many
It was hard to thrive
The hardest year ever
1995

Oh what a year full of tragedy
Death didnʻt come in oneʻs
Nor did it come in threeʻs
Necrotic tendencies
Engulfed the community
For what seemed like eternity

With the loss of so much
It was hard to survive
The hardest year ever
1995

The loss of my family
The loss of my friends
The loss of my education,
Lord when does this end?

The loss of my house
The loss of my home
The loss of anything I
Could ever call my own

With the loss of more loss
What was left to lose?
I wouldnʻt wish for anyone
To walk in those shoes

The hardest year ever
1995
Hard to survive
Impossible to thrive

But when new doors open
Others must close
Nobody can ever say
What the future will hold

Losing my life in essence was true
Just prior to losing the life that I new
Just one year prior to losing myself
I lost mt friends, my family and all of my wealth

When bullets go left and drama goes right
When everyoneʻs been snuffed but youʻre alright
When all has been lost and the damage is done
How can one call themselves the victorious one?

Lives were lost and children scarred
Not a survivor got by without getting marred
Most of the houses have been knocked down
If I went back today, wouldnʻt be my hometown

The past is gone, thereʻs no turning back
Just faded memories under PTSD attack
Thank God today is today and not 1995
The struggle is real but I think Iʻll survive.
