Summer Serenade

Enchanting melodies
Sweeps hearts away
Lyrical souls embellished
In musical harmony
Caressing each note
Soft petals arise
When pollination creates
Sweet lullabies
Crescendos of love songs
Duets of symphonies
Rhythm of heartbeats
Forever en synced
Summer serenade
Songs of desire
Forever connected
Blazing hearts afire

I Cry

From the bottom of my heart I cry.
Silent tears that nobody hears
Only God knows how hard I try.
People don't see see what I see
They don't even listen to me
My words seem invalid
Unless its their purpose I serve.
I'm not sure how they think,
But I think that's absurd.
I don't share the vision
Of cashing oneself in.
My preference cares for
Lemuria, my origin.
Witnessing mass suicide
At alcoholic rates.
Endless amounts of
Rape from a date
People only get irate.
But nobody stands tall
For righteousness to perpetuate.

.I cry.

I cry for my people to awaken
To wipe the tears from their eyes
To stand in solidarity with those
Standing for them, for their fist to rise
For what they believe in

.I cry.

For the love of my life who will never know
Just how deep my love for him flows
Under the current, safe in my heart
Until the day fate, tears us apart
But by my side, he'll never be
Fore he sees some kind of inequity
I know not what, it bothers me why
So here I write alone
One more tear in my eye
This next one here
Rocks me heart to the core
To have to shed a tear once more
For all love lost, yet one alive
I wish I could see my brother thrive
But he's in a cell for the rest of his days
For our younger experiences had
Snapped him away.

.I cry.

Yet all the crying won't end
Thousands of years of genocide
Thousands of years of indigenous oppression
To serve Gray Matter out of aggression
To be enslaved for diamonds & gold.

.I cry.

World economic depression
But to whom do we owe?
If Earth is in debt, do we owe it to Mars?
Does God now charge to brighten the stars?
Perhaps we owe it to the clouds where we store
Verizon just charged me for five gigs or more.
Where is the water, if we're running out?
Sea levels are rising, couldn't be... how?
Why is there snow on the tropical mount?
Where is this water, that we're doing without?
Something's not right and people are asleep
This is how one obtains the label sheep
Because dutifully, they follow the
Orders they're told
Never seeing the sign until they grow old
On behalf of my people
My heart starts to cry
For all the love lost,
Tears fall from my eyes
But I will take this pain
Hold it in stride, while
Fighting good fights during
My time alive.
But every night
I shed these tears
From my eyes
For these are
The reasons
I cry.

Lost in Asphalt

Lost in asphalt
Every step looks like the one before
Every girl's number on public bathroom doors
Every underground walkway in tile
Every alley full of vials
Shades of Krylon paint
Shroud concrete walls.

Providing identity to

Barron streets
Full of
Poverty
Shame
Neglect
Misery
Struggle
Oppression
And endless cigarette & liquor ad boards.

Bars

Nightclubs
Drugs
And the reoccurring gun show.
Every morning blessed
Every day anew
Every day a brand new chance
To survive again.

Lost in asphalt

Concrete maze
Coronas & lime
Purple Haze
Lost in asphalt
Wasted space
Its no wonder why
Can't thrive in those places
Vibrations so low
Can feel one another's pain
Hoping, wanting things to get
Better again.

Lost in asphalt,

Find your way
Grow a garden
Watch children play.
Lost in asphalt,
The struggle is real.
But to make things better,
Now that's the real deal
Form a counsel
Make it work
Keep it real
Guide the youth

Lost in asphalt

You will survive
You don't have to leave, to
Keep the dream alive.
Lost in asphalt, do it right.
Don't let another young life
End overnight.
